Spent the whole day grinding Great Jaggi. Got the Whole set upgraded to Lv. Forged a Lugroth Nail, does water damage. Need to kill the Qurupeco to make a fire weapon. This game is awesome! The armor has to tell me when Quropedo is ready to trap. Because whenever he jumps areas, you never know if still ready to trap. I got like 3 Vivid Feathers out of it, so cool.
It took 3 Pitfall Traps break the Qurupeco Beak. I also forged a whole set of Azuros Armor, which is weird because I only fought him 4 times total. I didn't paint the monster - in the past, I seem to remember the thing appearing without me painting it That's probably why. User Info: PiGuy Yeah, a monster has to be painted for Capture Guru to work. Having both of these abilities is extremely useful for capture quests. You always know where the monsters are and when they're ready to be captured without ever painting them.

If I remeber correctly it randomly gives extra capture items but they still have the same percentages.
So the idea is more drops gives more chances for a good drop. It doesn't increase the rates on everything. Just gives you more cap rewards and kinda does affect the rates at which you can get items that rates are increased when a monster is captured, since it gives you more cap reward items.

Thus, more chances of getting an item that is affected by capturing a monster.
Before this thread gets too stale I'll go ahead and ask this too. Seeing as how there are no quest rewards in free hunt, does this also apply to free hunt monsters and finding commodities?
