Method 2 said 'source' files could not be found. Still cannot get to Notifications or the Action Center. Also, when I click on lower left Windows icon, it does not bring up anything. I do need some assistance to get things working again. I ran the suggested fixes several times over the last two weeks, and can now say that Windows 10 seems to be working as expected. I have a new problem or one I've discovered more recently. The menu which normally shows up in Explorer at the bottom of the PDF document is not present in Edge, and neither is the menu at the top of the Edge page.

This should fix the start menu problem. Still don't know how to fix the action center, but Microsoft has some smart people on staff so I'm sure they'll figure this out shortly, perhaps the next update!

I have run The SFC about 4 times rebooted the computer and no change. I can't open the Settings menu at all. Please help.

I downloaded Advanced SystemCare. They have a tool called Smart Defrag. In there is a process you can run to "optimize apps" and it runs and looks like a defrag screen. I have no idea what it actually does, but this resolved my issue when these other methods either wouldn't work or had errors of their own. To enable it, follow these steps. You can rename the UsrClass. When this file is corrupted, it could lead to system issues that cause several desktop items to malfunction.

Renaming it will force Windows to create a new UsrClass. Locate the UsrClass. In case something goes wrong, you may still need the file to restore your system settings. When you get familiar with PowerShell commands , you can use them to solve various system issues. When you finish, restart your PC to save these changes. If PowerShell gives you trouble, there are various steps you can take to handle PowerShell errors.
